Arizona’s 1st Congressional District

Joe Biden carried this district in 2020, yet Republican David Schweikert won two years later by just 3,000 votes — or less than 1 percent. To flip AZ-1, People’s People’s House recommends that donors support Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA), which is widely recognized as among the most effective electoral organizing groups in the state.

LUCHA plans to knock on 1 million doors in Arizona this year, a presidential battleground state where a U.S. Senate seat and control of the state legislature are also at stake. It has experienced canvassers with local ties working to turn out voters in AZ-1. It is also reaching voters with digital outreach and advertising, as well as investing in election protection work to ensure that all votes are counted and results are properly certified.
