New York’s 22nd Congressional District

While Joe Biden carried this largely rural district by 7.5 points, Brandon Williams eked out a narrow victory here in 2022 — winning by fewer than 4,000 votes in an election where some 240,00 registered voters stayed home. Democrats can flip this district in 2024 and hold it going forward by investing in voter registration and mobilization, as well as persuading non-affiliated voters, who make up a third of the electorate in NY-22.

People’s House recommends that donors support Battleground New York, which unites leading organizing groups in the state for an unprecedented push to turn out voters across competitive NY districts this fall. The groups behind this push include the Working Families Party, Indivisible, Planned Parenthood Empire State Acts, and 1199 SEIU. Together, these organizations plan to mount a powerful field program that reaches tens of thousands of voters in GOP-held swing districts: NY-4, NY-17, NY-19, and NY-22.
